A Classic Time

While at Classic Time, I was responsible for designing merchandise and branding for the company. The following examples are collections that were independently developed from the ground up.

Christian Siriano New York Collection

While designing for Classic Time, we secured the rights to the Christian Siriano label, and I was entrusted with creating a watch collection for the brand. For those who may not be familiar, Christian Siriano is a renowned luxury womenswear designer, a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), and the winner of Project Runway Season 4, later becoming a mentor on the show. The goal was to translate Christian’s elegant runway aesthetic into red carpet-ready timepieces.

Our color choices were directly inspired by Christian's runway looks. Using hues that were consistently used across many collections. The goal was to take his flair for old-school glamour and inject it into each watch.

All timepieces were created with Christian in mind. We wanted to capture his luxurious design aesthetic and represent the Siriano brand by creating both statement timepieces as well as everyday looks.

Naturally, we were driven to use high-end materials for the collection, such as stainless steel, mother-of-pearl, and 3D dial art. All watches that used 3D dial details reflected his well-known ruffled details.

For the packaging, we wanted to create an elegant statement. Our team landed on a monochromatic box with a vegan leather interior. Paired with a lavish rose gold mirrored box lip and rose gold foil interior logo print.

NASA Voyager Collection

One of my other independent projects was to pitch a small NASA-themed watch collection to the company. Working with NASA's official product guidelines, a cohesive theme was created for the two-piece line. What came about were eye-catching products that appealed to those who saw the NASA brand as a fashion statement and a scientific innovator.

The collection was based on NASA's Voyager program, the exploration of the greater depths of space. The first watch that was designed, later named Launch, was modeled after NASA's iconic orange launch suit. We used industrial elements on the dial to create an industrial and technological feel.

The second watch, Orbit, was modeled after the NASA space suit. Each watch was matched as closely as possible to the suits they were inspired by while staying within NASA product guidelines. Their designs mimicked details from the suit’s patches and mechanics.

After watch samples were finalized with our factory and packaging was chosen and completed, the company went through with selling the collection as an online exclusive, and the line was promptly launched.

And the launch was a success!
